What do you know about Ruchazie?
Ruchazie is in the east of the city close to Easterhouse. The area has experienced considerable regeneration and improvement in recent years thanks to Tower Homes LHO and Ruchazie Housing Association. Ruchazie is the only district in Glasgow that does not have a Public House. Although small Ruchazie is split into three distinct areas, The High-End, The Coby and the largest of them all, The Lowend. In the early '80s the Lowend was the Rangers End, and it was not until the tragic fire in Bankend St that the Council took the opportunity of demolishing the whole area. It has gone from a bustling community of 10,000 in those days to under 3,000 in 2008. The Ziggy Fleet who were born in the Lowend in 1974 are still going.
